Garage Nation is back in Dubai, promising bigger and better things at the stunning Iris in Meydan. Mark your calendars for Friday, 5 September, if you want a night of noughties nostalgia.
This will be the first Garage Nation event in Dubai following the summer break, so they’re going all out. The lineup for the night includes seven UK Garage heavyweights who will set the stage on fire and help you re-live your days as a millennial raver.
Headlining the bill are two giants of UK garage, each with a legacy that continues to fill dance floors worldwide. Artful Dodger brings chart history with “Re Rewind” and “Please Don’t Turn Me On,” records that introduced millions to the sound of speed garage and slick two-step. Expect taut drums, elastic bass and the kind of vocal hooks that live rent-free in your head long after the lights come up. Alongside them stands Scott Garcia, the producer behind “It’s A London Thing,” a scene-defining anthem whose bassline and swing still feel like a love letter to the capital’s pirate radio era.
On the mic, MC CKP rides the riddims with that unmistakable voice that has narrated warehouse parties and festival stages for decades, keeping the energy locked at peak from the first drop to the final reload.
Hype kings MC Tino and MC Black Arab host proceedings, while Dubai’s favourite homegrown selectors complete the picture. Tom Karno, Engr and Kizo, Walia and DJ Moky line up for signature sets that move from classic shufflers to new school rollers with ease.
