The world’s largest floating book fair is coming to the UAE

The floating book fair will dock in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah

We all know that books can take us on an adventure, from a pirate ship to outer space. It’s not often that purchasing them can be just as exciting, but that’s set to change with the world’s largest floating bookfair – Logos Hope in the UAE. So, put down your Kindle and hop on board

Logos Hope is scheduled to dock in Ras Al Khaimah from 10 April to 17 April, Dubai from 17 April to 23 April, and Abu Dhabi from 10 May to 5 June. If you’re looking for your next read, you’ll find plenty of inspiration, as there are more than 5,000 titles. Visitors can choose from multiple genres covering fiction, non-fiction and children’s literature.

GBA Ships operate the vessels Doulos Hope and Logos Hope, which are on a mission to share knowledge, help and hope. The project aims to promote literacy and education around the world, all through the simple act of reading. The ships have visited over 480 ports in 150 countries, and welcomed more than 49 million people on board for the floating book fair.

On each trip, the Logos Hope team also visits schools, hospitals and orphanages, in a plan to provide care to the local community. The crew is made up of more than 60 different nationalities, and the members spend at least one year on board.

If you want to follow Logos Hope’s journey – at the time of writing, it’s on its way to Basra, Iraq – then visit the ship’s site. Logos Hope is also scheduled to dock at Manama, Bahrain from 6 to 19 June; Doha, Qatar from 20 June to 3 July; Muscat, Oman from 5 July to 24 July; and Salalah, Oman from 27 July to 3 August.

Happy reading.
