The beachfront institution will host one final party before reopening as a reimagined waterfront destination in 2027.

Dubai’s nightlife scene is preparing for the end of an era, but only temporarily. Barasti Beach Dubai, one of the city’s best-known beachfront venues, has announced that it will close this June for a major redevelopment. The much-loved beach club and sports bar will return in 2027 as a reimagined waterfront destination.

Located at Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Waterpark, Barasti has been part of Dubai’s social fabric for three decades. Since opening in 1995, the venue has grown from a simple beachside pool with live acoustic music into one of the region’s most recognisable entertainment spots. It has become known for big-screen sports, beachfront parties and international DJs that have drawn generations of residents and visitors.

The forthcoming transformation marks the venue’s most ambitious chapter yet. The new Barasti will feature multiple zones designed for different occasions, from daytime dining to late-night entertainment. The redevelopment will also introduce a stronger culinary focus, new spaces for adults and families, and a layout created to serve the fast-growing Dubai Marina and Dubai Harbour neighbourhoods.

“Barasti is more than a venue; it is part of Dubai’s story,” said Ugur Lee Kanbur, multi-property general manager of Destination Mina Seyahi. “For 30 years, it has brought people together and created memories for generations of residents and visitors. We have been working on this vision for over 12 months and we are incredibly proud to finally share what lies ahead. We’re creating a destination that will honour Barasti’s remarkable legacy while taking it to an entirely new level. It will look different, but the soul of Barasti will remain exactly where it belongs.”

Before work begins, Barasti will host one final celebration. Barasti: Last Orders will take place on Sunday, 21 June, from 10am until midnight. Entry will be free, while a special farewell package will be available for AED 150, including three food items and five drinks.

As Dubai Marina has grown around it, Barasti has remained a constant presence by the beach. Its next chapter aims to build on that legacy while creating a new community-focused destination for the years ahead.
