Dubai is hardly short of places to unwind. In a city where five-star hotels and wellness retreats are practically part of the landscape, there is no shortage of spas promising to help you switch off and reset. And then there is Talise Spa – Jumeirah’s signature wellness concept, with several outposts across the emirate.
But Talise Spa at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab feels like it is playing in a league of its own. Set within one of Dubai’s newest ultra-luxury hotels, FACT’s Spa of the Year 2026 is a place where the setting is very much part of the experience.
Situated along Dubai’s coastline, Talise Spa enjoys a location that immediately puts you in the mood to slow down, with sweeping views of the Arabian Gulf and Burj Al Arab. The spa stretches across three floors, designed to make the most of the natural light and sea views. There is even a dedicated women-only floor, offering an added sense of privacy.
The facility is designed as a complete wellness destination, with 13 treatment suites, each featuring a private terrace and sea views. There is also an indoor relaxation pool, fitness studio and gym, sauna and steam facilities, and a hammam. The treatment menu spans signature massages and facials, couples’ treatments, prenatal massage, cryotherapy, LED therapy and more advanced wellness experiences.
The first thing that strikes you about Talise Spa is how it balances luxury with calm. The experience is built around natural light, soft tones, clean lines and expansive views. The interiors have a soothing feel, creating a cocoon-like atmosphere. The result is a place where you could easily spend an entire day moving between treatment, relaxation and simply staring out at the sea.
After a warm welcome, we were greeted with a refreshing cold towel and a drink. From there, we were shown to the treatment room, and it was immediately clear that the surroundings would play a starring role. The room was dressed in beige and brown tones. A floor-to-ceiling window opened up to the views of the sea, with the Burj Al Arab and the resort’s pool completing the picture.
We chose to experience The Comforting Ritual, a 90-minute treatment starting from AED 1,100. The treatment is described as an intuitive and grounding massage, aimed at easing muscle tension, supporting better sleep and encouraging a deeper sense of calm.
It began with a foot cleanse, during which we were asked to select a stone — a practice rooted in crystal and energy-based wellness. We picked an orange-toned stone, often symbolically connected with warmth, vitality and emotional flow — making it a great choice. These associations are spiritual and symbolic rather than scientifically proven, but as a mindfulness ritual, it is a lovely way to begin a treatment.
Once the introductory rituals were complete, we were guided to the massage bed, prepared with a specially positioned pillow to support the body. The treatment began with us lying on our side, allowing the therapist to work with the body and adapt the massage to our needs. The pace was slow and reassuring, moving from the feet towards the lower back and then up through the shoulders. After turning to the other side, the process was repeated, helping to create a sense of balance throughout the body and leaving us progressively more relaxed.
The treatment then moved upwards, with gentle work around the head helping to quieten the mind — at which point, staying awake becomes a challenge. A facial massage was also incorporated into the experience, helping to refresh the skin and add another layer of relaxation.
One of the nicest aspects of the experience was the personalised approach. The treatment was adapted to the body’s individual areas of tension and the skin’s needs, rather than feeling like a one-size-fits-all experience. At the end, we were presented with a recommendation card with guidance intended to tailor future treatments. It is a small detail, but one that adds to the feeling that the experience is designed around you.

The award recognises the spa’s combination of intuitive service, exceptional facilities and treatments that feel genuinely tailored to each guest. From the arrival ritual to the personalised recommendations provided after the treatment, every detail feels considered.
At AED 1,100 for 90 minutes, The Comforting Ritual at Talise Spa in Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab is undoubtedly a splurge. But you are not simply paying for a massage. You are paying for the setting, the thoughtful rituals, the personalised approach and the feeling of being properly looked after from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave. After all, if your body is going to demand some downtime, it might as well come with a Burj Al Arab view.
