Dubai’s first museum dedicated to digital art will bring immersive installations, generative works and future-focused creativity to the city.

Dubai’s cultural scene is getting a major digital upgrade. The Museum of Digital Art Dubai, also known as MODA, has launched at DIFC Zabeel, marking a significant moment for the city’s growing creative economy. Billed as the first museum in the Middle East dedicated entirely to digital art, the new institution will place immersive technology, interactive storytelling and experimental creativity at its core.

Located within the DIFC expansion at Zabeel, MODA reflects Dubai’s ambition to sit at the crossroads of culture, innovation and technology. The museum has been developed under the guidance of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and aims to support the emirate’s position as a global destination for future-facing art and creative industries.

The building has been designed by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, the studio known for ambitious landmark projects with a focus on sustainability and modern design. MODA’s architectural identity will mirror its digital mission, with flexible spaces created for exhibitions, collaboration, research and large-scale immersive experiences.

Spanning five floors, the Museum of Digital Art Dubai will move beyond the format of a traditional gallery. Instead, visitors will be able to engage with generative art, interactive installations, responsive digital environments and works shaped by emerging technologies. The museum will also provide a platform for artists who are exploring the possibilities of artificial intelligence, virtual worlds, motion graphics and new media.

MODA is also designed to encourage collaboration. The museum will bring together artists, technologists, researchers, students and creative thinkers, offering a space where ideas can be tested, developed and shared. This ecosystem-led approach supports Dubai’s wider strategy to grow its creative industries while connecting culture with innovation.

One of the museum’s most forward-thinking features is its planned digital twin. This virtual version of MODA will allow audiences around the world to explore exhibitions remotely and interact with artworks beyond the walls of the physical museum. It also gives the institution a global reach from day one.

With its mix of architecture, technology and artistic ambition, MODA introduces a new kind of cultural landmark to Dubai. The museum strengthens the city’s reputation as a place where creativity and innovation continue to evolve together.
