I love how peaceful Abu Dhabi is. There’s something for all ages and interests.”

Steve is keen to change stereotypes about the Middle East. “Coming from the United States, we’re fed all types of propaganda on what this side of the world is like. I’d have to say that the UAE has introduced me to so many different cultures and completely opened my eyes to learning as much as I can,” he confesses.

Gearing up to host the Open Fire Food Festival, Harvey chose Abu Dhabi as the ideal setting. Explaining his decision, he remarked, “The UAE was the perfect place because where else will you find over 200 nationalities all living in harmony? That’s unheard of where I’m from. And I chose Abu Dhabi specifically because that’s one of the most family-oriented places in the UAE. To create a space where everyone can share their culture and also get a taste of someone else’s is the ultimate learning experience.”

In the culinary realm, Steve Harvey defers to his wife when it comes to naming favourites. “She’s introduced me to so many different foods while we’re here,” he commented. “I do love that karak tea!”

Much like the UAE, Saudi Arabia is also quickly garnering the attention of celebrities from all over the world and closing the conversation, Steve Harvey shares his thoughts on the Kingdom. “I’ve met some good people from Saudi Arabia but haven’t had the chance to visit yet.”
