Culinary Boutique 

You’re spoilt for choice and just plain spoilt at Culinary Boutique – sure you can learn to make tarts, pastries and French eclairs, but you can also try your hand at cuisine from Bangkok, Italy and Japan. This cooking class in Dubai prides itself on its variety, as it has more than 100 different types of workshops, which take place regularly throughout the year and start from AED 295.

Fairmont The Palm

Little chefs and big chefs are all welcome at Fairmont The Palm. You’ll feel like you’re the star of your own cooking show, as the space is so slick with separate cooking stations and state-of-the-art equipment. The adult’s classes cover Arabic hot mezzah, Arabic cold mezzah and chicken kabsa with moussaka, and kid’s classes cover cookies, pasta and macaroons. The kids’ classes take place on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11am to 1pm, and the adult’s classes take place on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 12pm to 2pm. International Centre for Culinary Arts Dubai 

Budding chefs, this one’s for you. If you can stand the heat, then make your way to this professional kitchen. These cooking classes in Dubai are aimed at wannabe professionals, as there are long courses with diplomas at the end. The artisanal courses are great if you want to show off to your friends rather than food critics and cover bread, chocolate, gelato and pizza making. You’ll learn theory as well as practical cooking skills, and receive a certificate of achievement.

Mango Tree Thai Bistro 

The charming Thai bistro hosts Mummy and Me cooking classes where you can learn about ingredients, spices, recipes and Thai culture. You’ll master the restaurant’s signature dishes, including chicken flatbread, pad Thai, spring rolls and papaya salad. Head chef Atip guides kids during the class, which takes place every Sunday from 4.30pm to 5.30pm and costs AED 69 per child. Pizza Express 

There ain’t no party like a pizza-making party. Pizza Express’ Pizza Making Parties are so much fun, and a memorable way to celebrate a special occasion. Kids are given the ready made six-inch dough and get the chance to add their own toppings such as olives, mushrooms and even pineapple. It’s a cute sight to watch, as they don mini chef’s hats and aprons. The class costs AED 68 per child.

SUSHISAMBA Dubai

You’ve got to roll with it at SUSHISAMBA Dubai. The Japanese restaurant is hosting an Edomae sushi masterclass, which teaches you how to make sushi like a pro. SushiSamba’s culinary director Moon Kyung Soo can make (and eat) three sushi rolls. Plus, there’ll be a three-course sharing lunch. We don’t need an excuse to visit SushiSamba, but this certainly helps.

Teible 

The farm-to-table restaurant Teible, located in Jameel Arts Centre, has a sustainable approach to its menu and its cooking workshops. This cooking class in Dubai hosts a range of workshops throughout the year, which cover popular and niche areas. Over the summer, you can join a gelato and sorbet workshop with Executive Pastry Chef Sheerin Ghaffar (19 July; AED 550) or a shio koji workshop with Executive Chef Carlos Frunze (2 Aug; AED 650). This one-stop-shop caters to all your cooking needs, as it covers a range of cuisines, levels and age ranges. Don’t be shy, as the levels include experienced, basic and easy. There are so many classes to choose from, for example there’s a vegetarian class (AED 445), pasta making class (AED 445) and culinary art class (AED 495). There are even kids cooking camps and family cooking classes. At the end of the class, you can take off your chef’s hat and eat your way through your creation in the Top Chef dining room.

The kids will be getting their noodles in a twist at Wagamama’s cooking class, but don’t worry, there are experts on hand to help. These fun-filled cooking classes in Dubai teach young ones about Japanese food, from sauces to stir-fries. The class includes food, drinks and cute chef costumes. The Palm Jumeirah branch hosts the cooking classes in Dubai – it runs on the weekends from 11am to 12.30pm, and is available for children aged between three to 11 years old and costs AED 65.

When baking cookies just doesn’t cut it, take the kids to Yummy Dosa. You’ll be expanding their knowledge about different cuisines, as they get to make this popular South Indian snack. Over the summer, if you spend AED 150 while dining at the restaurant, children can enjoy this cooking class in Dubai for free. The class is held in the restaurant’s Discover Garden location, it runs on weekdays from 1pm to 4pm and is available for children aged between 10 to 16 years old.
