Rock star Sting will ring in the New Year at Atlantis, The Palm

The hitmaker follows in the footsteps of Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams.

Start 2024 off in style. The legendary British singer Sting has announced he is coming to Dubai. The hitmaker will perform at The Atlantis, The Palm’s New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner, and here’s how you can get your hands on tickets. 

Atlantis, The Palm has welcomed big names for its New Year’s Eve concerts, from Kylie Minogue to Robbie Williams. This year’s masquerade ball theme takes place on a custom-built deck under the starlit sky. The evening includes a 30-piece live band, a buffet with dishes ranging from lobster to caviar, and live cooking stations. 

Timothy Kelly, Executive Vice President and Managing Director, Atlantis Dubai, explained: “With an iconic presence worldwide and known as a true superstar, we are incredibly excited to welcome Sting as our headline act this year. Our New Year’s Eve Gala Dinners have earned a notable reputation in the region, and we anticipate another extraordinary milestone in 2023. We look forward to giving our guests one of the most memorable evenings of their lives as we ring in the new year.”

Sting, born Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner, hails from North Tyneside, England. He’s had less than rock and roll professions, from being a bus conductor to a tax collector. When he first started performing, he wore black and yellow striped jumpers, which earned him his nickname.

Sting’s career spans five decades and his hit songs include Fields of Gold, Shape Of My Heart, Roxanne, Englishman In New York, Every Breath You Take and Message In A Bottle. He has won an impressive 17 Grammy Awards with The Police and as a solo artist. He won Song of the Year for Every Breath You Take. Plus, three Brit Awards, which include Best British Male Artist and Outstanding Contribution, and has been nominated four times for the Academy Awards for Best Original Song. 

Sting is no stranger to the UAE. He has performed in Abu Dhabi in 2013 and 2023. The show My Songs came to Etihad Arena earlier this year, following six sold-out nights at the London Palladium. 

Tickets for the New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner start from AED 4,500 for four to 13 year olds, and AED 6,500 for 14 years old and above.
