Signor Sassi will open its doors in Dubai next month

Reservations for the famed Italian restaurant are now open.

It’s been over four decades since Signor Sassi arrived on London’s culinary scene, but its hearty portions of classic Italian food continue to draw a VIP clientele to this day. Now, the famed eatery – which has already expanded to Bangkok and Riyadh – is getting ready to launch an outpost in Dubai.

Making its debut on 25 September, Signor Sassi Dubai is a joint partnership between Sunset Hospitality Group and San Carlo Restaurants. The restaurant will be located within St. Regis Gardens – on the rooftop of Nakheel Mall – in Palm Jumeirah, and is poised to offer a culinary experience that combines genuine hospitality with a menu of Italian favourites. The venue’s layout and design, crafted to create an inviting atmosphere, mirror the elegance and comfort that the brand is famous for.

With two bars (one in the indoor restaurant and another on the covered terrace that will feature a specially designed fountain) and a team dedicated to bringing forth the genuine flavours of Italy, Signor Sassi is positioned to become one of the most exciting venue openings of 2023. The interiors, meanwhile, draw inspiration from the luxurious villas nestled along the shores of Lake Como in Northern Italy.

Diners can therefore expect to encounter coloured marbles and highly polished timbers, reminiscent of the opulent yachts that grace the lake’s waters. The furniture selection draws inspiration from iconic Italian designers such as Gio Ponti, infusing the space with a playful twist — much like the way villa owners have carefully assembled their homes over the years, a selection of furniture pieces and décor elements from different eras and styles will be curated at the venue.

True to its heritage, Signor Sassi presents a menu curated by Italian culinary experts, so guests can anticipate a range of dishes that capture the essence of Italian cuisine. Signature offerings include Lobster “alla Catalana” with Tomatoes and Onions, Avocado Bernardo Salad with Prawns, Lobster and Cocktail Sauce, Veal Milanese with Potato Sticks, Tagliolini with Caviar and Lemon Sauce, and Risotto “Signor Sassi” with Porcini Mushrooms and Truffle. Other Signor Sassi’s all-time favourites include The Famous Spaghetti Lobster, Seared Veal Escalope, Braised Beef Short Ribs, and a selection of artisanal pizzas —Pizza with Burrata, Rocket and Truffle included.

Signor Sassi Dubai will also showcase a selection of classic and specially crafted cocktails. Among them is the signature Negroni, garnished with a classic orange peel that promises a quintessential blend of flavours. Wine connoisseurs will find delight in the extensive wine collection, featuring the finest Italian wines complemented by a curated selection from around the world. The restaurant will only be open for dinner service during the month of September, with all-day dining available from October onwards. Reservations are now open.
