21grams comes FACT-recommended, as you may well spot the team remote working from the cool café. Apollo brings elevated comfort food to Palm Views West, offering a polished yet approachable all-day bistro from the team behind Rascals Deli and Za Za Slice. If you love the smell of freshly baked bread, then head to bkry. Located in Alserkal Avenue, bkry is a flour-dusted workshop disguised as a café, all concrete cool, burlap sacks. Laminations are precise with layered Croissants, Pistachio Babka with a glossy twist and the FACT favourite PB&J Cruffin. Their viral Korean Tissue Bread recently earned them the royal stamp of approval from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum himself. Coffee is dialled in with short, bright espressos and easy batch brew. Arrive early and be prepared to queue!

Blu Pizzeriá
Blu Pizzeriá brings a slice of Naples to Dubai with long-fermented dough, a blistering wood-fired oven, and a menu that keeps the focus firmly on quality ingredients. From the team behind the FACT award-winning Honeycomb Hi-Fi and Miss Lily’s, Cocina Tres is set to open soon at Pullman Dubai Downtown. The name translates to “three kitchens”, a hint at a concept that leans into variety and vibrancy. Led by a team of Mexican chefs, the menu champions traditional techniques and regional breadth. Tortillas are made by hand and ground on a custom-built molino using imported Oaxacan corn, then paired with fresh seafood and show-stopping wood-fire specials. Hold on to your sombrero. The Mexican-born chef Jonathan Colin has announced the opening of his new restaurant, El Primo. Located in Al Wasl, the taqueria will bring to life the food, fun and festivities of Mexico City. The venue aims to offer no-frills, but a whole lot of heart, with comfort food and comforting vibes. The design and décor will evoke a laid-back 1980s vibe, and the interiors will feature red-and-white tiling. Girl & The Goose Restaurante Centroamerica
Girl & the Goose – Restaurante Centroamericano is the UAE’s first restaurant dedicated to the rich, diverse flavours of Central America. Jun’s
Chef Kelvin Cheung is behind Jun’s, a fine-dining Asian experience. The third-culture chef has fused his Canadian and Cantonese heritage, telling a story through his food. The restaurant has achieved critical success, winning several FACT Dining Awards and a place on the MENA 50 Best Restaurant list. The Heirloom Carrots remain a firm FACT favourite and one of the restaurant’s best dishes. The origin stories of restaurants often sound the same. That’s not the case with the new Japanese concept, Kima. It wasn’t born in a boardroom but from a big argument. The restaurant brings all the vibes of a low-key neighbourhood izakaya to the heart of JLT. Over her career, she has specialised in Mexican food and opened restaurants across Chicago and New York. Manāo
While the name of the restaurant means ‘lime’ in Thai, Chefs Abhiraj Khatwani and Mohamad Orfali build a marvellous menu around citrus, rice and coconut at Manāo. Expect memorable plates, superb service and a casual dining room. The standout dish is the Lobster Khanom Krok, which flips a familiar Thai street snack from sweet to savoury, serving tamarind‑brushed grilled lobster on a coconut‑rich fermented rice custard, so compelling that you might ask for seconds. Middle Child
If you’re a middle child, you’ll know all about Middle Child Syndrome. Chef Lynn Hazim has decided to own the phrase and use it as a source of inspiration for her latest venture, Middle Child. Located in Alserkal Avenue, the concept features a restaurant, a cookbook shop and a grocer. Lynn is a Beirut-born, Dubai-based foodie who has turned a ten-year passion project into a reality. There has been much fanfare surrounding Moonrise and its young chef, Solemann Haddad. Located on the rooftop of Eden House on Sheikh Zayed Road, Moonrise features seasonally changing tasting menus that span Middle Eastern flavours, ingredients and cooking techniques. Chef Solemann, who was born and raised in Dubai, draws inspiration from his multicultural background, capturing Dubai’s diversity through his carefully crafted dishes such as 90’s Alfredo, Fattoush Nam Jim, and a superb twist on Grilled Cheese. Orfali Bros
Mohamad, Wassim, and Omar are the Orfali brothers behind the homegrown success story that draws inspiration from their travels. The family works closely with local farmers and suppliers to source the highest-quality local ingredients for their contemporary take on Middle Eastern dishes. The small restaurant offers several stunning dishes, from the Caviar Bun and Corn Bomb to the exceptional Umami Éclair. However, it’s the playfully named Come With Me To Aleppo that keeps us returning to this homegrown hotspot. A tender wagyu beef kebab served with sour cherry, pine nuts, and cinnamon is a textural marvel, a sweet and savoury sensation.

Osteria Funkcoolio
Osteria Funkcoolio brings Chef Akmal Anuar’s playful take on Itameshi to Port de La Mer, where Italian comfort food meets Japanese flair in a compact, marina-facing space. The decor leans intimate and retro, with just a handful of horseshoe booths, warm lighting and a sense of swagger that feels unmistakably Akmal. The menu moves between homemade pastas, pizzas and clever small plates, all delivered with the restaurant’s trademark irreverence. Signature highlights include the Arancini Nigiri, pizzas topped with veal ragu or spicy duck and sriracha, plus a Tiramisu finished with a cloud-like layer of soft meringue.

Rascals Deli
Rascals Deli is known for its statement sandwiches, which are made with thick pieces of bread and moreish fillings. A firm FACT favourite, this Dubai ode to the classic sandwich shop. Fillings are generous and tight, from peppery pastrami with sharp mustard to a cheesesteak that drips with onions and proper melt. Ravi Restaurant
Ravi Restaurant is the sort of place that defines Dubai dining. Opened in Al Satwa in 1978 by Chaudary Abdul Hameed, the family-run institution built its reputation on affordable, home-style Pakistani cooking and remains a beloved fixture for everyone from taxi drivers to tastemakers. Its appeal lies in its honesty with bright lights, brisk service and bold flavours over unnecessary polish. Savryn
From the Horn of Africa to West Africa, Savrun from Chef Shehab Medhat brings a modern lens to dishes and ingredients from across the African continent. Sticky Rice
Sticky Rice is one of the UAE’s great homegrown success stories. In 2023, it expanded from Dubai to Abu Dhabi and is spreading its Thai flavours across the country. The cult Thai canteen offers a cheerful room lined with rubber ducks and the scent of lemongrass and charcoal. Three Bros
Orfali Bros has been hitting the headlines and winning awards for its creative cuisine. Now, the three brothers from Syria have created a new concept, Three Bros. The playful 22-seat diner that channels their culinary heritage with a dash of nostalgia. Highlights include Croquettes enriched with 18-month Comté and truffle mayo, Beef Cecina atop pan con tomate, a marvellous Morel Chawanmushi, and buttery slices of Otoro tuna on toasted sourdough. Window
Window brings fire-led comfort food to Alserkal Avenue, where FYTE Hospitality, the team behind Kokoro, has created a 32-seat, chef-driven restaurant built around live-fire cooking. Helmed by Argentinian chef Gonzalo Platero, the concept celebrates live-fire cooking in a warm, intimate setting, while corrugated metal, terrazzo floors and caramel leather banquettes give the Al Quoz warehouse space a raw yet warm feel. The cuisine is premium-casual and ingredient-led, moving through cold starters, hot plates, pasta, grilled mains and desserts.
