Everything we know about Wynn Al Marjan Island

Inspired by its surrounding seascape, Wynn Al Marjan Island is set to be a new architectural landmark in the UAE.

Wynn’s first venture in the Middle East is garnering plenty of attention long before its debut — and rightfully so. The casino giant’s resort will be the first of its kind in the region, and it now has a name: Wynn Al Marjan Island.

Wynn Resorts has also unveiled the design vision of its first-ever beachfront resort, which is inspired by the seascape of Al Marjan Island. Set in a tranquil setting overlooking the azure waters of the Arabian Gulf, Wynn Al Marjan Island will rise more than 305 metres above the sea, welcoming visitors to a premium experience, complete with exceptional entertainment and gaming amenities.

This luxurious destination boasts 1,542 elegantly appointed rooms and suites, complemented by 22 exclusive Villa Estates nestled along the freshly crafted marina adjoining the resort. Additionally, guests can enjoy an expansive poolscape bordering the beach, adorned with a plethora of swimming and wading pools, water features, secluded cabanas, and lush tropical landscaping.

Within the resort, an exquisite array of 22 dining, lounge, and bar venues awaits, each housed within its own distinctively crafted setting, with many offering captivating vistas of the beach and poolscape. The theatre will host bespoke production shows for guests to enjoy.

The resort will feature a 15,000-square-meter shopping esplanade showcasing the finest luxury boutiques, alongside a five-star spa and salon for indulgent relaxation. Designed to cater to various occasions, the 7,500-square-meter meetings and events centre will provide ample space for conferences, conventions, and special events such as weddings, complemented by expansive outdoor event terraces and lawns. The resort will also offer layered experiences including nightly laser and light shows.

The design of Wynn Al Marjan Island takes its inspiration from the natural landscape surrounding the resort and the design aesthetic of Wynn Resorts. The same geometric configuration of the curved shape of the island’s beach is echoed through the podium structure, creating majestic views of the shoreline, sea and horizon. Every diner in the restaurant offerings lining the beach-facing promenade will enjoy sweeping views of the sea.

“Historically, the area around Ras Al Khaimah was a beacon for navigation and important trade on the Arabian Gulf. Early travellers through the gulf relied upon this tented settlement as a trade landmark between the Arabian Gulf and the Arabian Sea,” said Todd Lenahan, President and Chief Creative Officer of Wynn Design and Development. “We designed the 300-meter-tall resort tower with Ras Al Khaimah’s historic role as a great navigational sentinel in mind. We hope this becomes a new landmark, a new beacon, for travellers to Ras A Khaimah from across the globe.”

For its first project in the MENA region, the luxury resort operator will create a serene and stylish setting that brings the warm, relaxed ocean setting into its modern world-class hotel. With an estimated project cost of approximately USD 3.9 billion, the resort will transform and accelerate Ras Al Khaimah’s rise as a major global tourist destination, while creating substantial value to its economy through tourism and job creation. The project will pave the way for the accelerated growth of allied business sectors. Foundation construction work began on site earlier this year.
